Cancer Champion

I was reading my devotional this morning; and, surprise – surprise, God addressed something I’ve thought about recently. Although Jesus has been a huge part of my life since I was able to make that decision, I don’t think I’ve been close with him for a while. I’ve been too focused on the academics of ‘Bible Study,’ and not remembering the simplicity of his message, and the BOUNDLESS Love and Grace given freely to EVERY person no matter what differences exist.

As people, we make all kinds of rules and restrictions that DON’T exist; and conveniently leave out or bend the parts that conflict with our world views. But we can’t lose track of the fact that God sent his Son to show us that ALL people are precious to him and he wants to tend us and teach us Love and Forgiveness, while weeding out the anger and selfishness that taints the Joy he longs to share with us. Below are the verses I was reading this morning (New International Version)  if you’re interested. They’ve helped me to start remembering why I Love Jesus and decided to follow him even though so many people seem to hate or dislike Christians.

A few days ago I posted a www.youtube.com clip about Kent Finch, a man whose life experience reminds me a lot of Job. He would probably think that was putting him on a pedestal, but anyone who’s familiar with Job’s life knows how extreme a comparison that is.

He, my friend Steve, Harvey and I got together for a walk around the little park near my house, talked and enjoyed the beautiful afternoon. I had a great time.

Thank you so much for taking the time to meet with me and share your life story with me and my husband Kent. I had the opportunity to share some of it with a doctor and a student the following day and they were moved by it as well. It was surprising to be in a doctor’s appointment and spend most of the time talking about Jesus Christ and how he is in control. He even gave me a little picture of Jesus and bracelet with a cross on it. They’re beautiful.

And thank you for the CD. I was having trouble with my Dropbox account and disc made things much easier to listen to your songs….which I LOVE. And they sound great with you singing and playing. Thanks again for sharing them with me.

This is an excellent time to work on my patience. I’m a very anxious person; constantly multitasking thinking about what needs to get done rather than focusing on what’s happening in the moment. Doing that tends to ruin the moment and hurt whatever my current goal is.

I’m noticing that as I’m trying to get back into training the dogs. Caesar Milan is all about patience and takes a long time letting the dog adjust to changes before he moves on. We’re always so busy, that we rush into EVERYTHING ELSE, before we give the dog a chance to adjust. So the dogs still on step one and we’re trying to meet the ‘schedule;’ whatever that’s supposed to be, rather than taking our time to do things right. That’s why Kiba’s still scared of getting his toe nails clipped and Kumo’s still jealous of ANY attention we give Kiba.

So I’m learning how to be more Patient. Thank you LORD :worship:

We’re thinking about checking out this little church near our house. I’ve wanted to get involved in a little community church and this sounds like it might be perfect. I just listened to a pod cast, and I think the pastor did a great job keeping to the word. It’s Paul teaching Timothy about believers and persecution. Here’s a link if anyone’s interested.

Steve, a friend and brother in Christ shared this with me recently and I was so blessed by it. I know everyone feels bad for me because of what’s happening, but I feel like God is doing something really important in my life both physically and spiritually. I’m so thankful for this time to come closer to HIM, to my family and to all of you. God bless you all and enjoy :music:

Tonight was my first dose of my fourth cycle of chemo. Aside from being up too early again I feel okay. I just feel really uncomfortable. My bones and joints ache, I feel like something’s stuck in my throat and I’m tired, but my mind won’t turn off…So I’m up doing this. GOOD MORNING :moon:

At least I’m not feeling nauseous :victory:

I’m also ‘discovering’ yoga. It’s been great. My body’s been too weak to do anything to challenging or long; but, I need to move or I’m going to go nuts. And my joints feel to weak to do much more than walk and stretch. So yoga is perfect :-D  It helps with relieving tension and pain while I get exercise.

I can do some Tai Chi and Chi Gong, but I can’t remember the Forms :loser:, and my knees and feet are too weak for most of it right now. I think the yoga will help me get physically to a point where I can do without hurting myself… and then I just have to get Harvey to run over the steps with me.

Well, I’m going to try to go back to sleep now :ZZZ:

Momma came by to get me and we hung out all day by the fire. It was GREAT!!! The morning was so cold, and I got to see my adorable little Momma act like a hardcore lumberjack and split a huge, hunk of wood. She’s so awesome. I got to split some wood too. It’s the first time I’ve tried that, so I was very excited about it. :jump:

We also did some yoga that’s supposed to help with back issues; which, is becoming more and more of a pain. Youtube has a tone of short free workouts, that are great for people who want something specific.

We also read a touching story about older woman teaching younger woman. It was one of those that had me in tears before we got past the first couple pages. Mom had to take over for me.  :cry:

I actually slept past 6am this morning!!!

Yesterday was a very busy day. I was on my feet almost all day, had an appointment with my new doctor, didn’t get a nap and changed my med schedule. So by the end of the night, my feet ached so bad I couldn’t walk and I was nodding off in a seated half split on the floor while Harvey finished getting night-time chores done.

At one point Harvey came in to ask me something, but couldn’t make sense of it. I mumbled, he gave up and I was out before he made it out of the room.

I like my new doctor. She’s easier to communicate with. Harvey even mentioned how she explained a few things better than anyone else had. She even drew a little diagram for us when we were talking about the necrosis. She also wears a Superman pin on her lapel and bright stripped socks in addition to smiling and making eye contact. :-D

I’m still working with my other doctor as a primary…but Dr. Siddiqui is local and seems like someone I can relate to better.
